A small part of her contemplated about whether or not she should tell her about the person who wanted them to kiss. She figured getting Mabel’s permission would be the polite thing to do. At the same time, Mabel and her have been friends for what seemed like forever. Affection wasn’t a new thing seeing as Mabel was always affectionate around her.
A small kiss wouldn’t hurt anybody.
Eventually, Jane had leaned in, giving Mabel the smallest of kisses before pulling away, freckled cheeks the lightest shade of pink.
“Just, thanks— thanks for being one of my best friends and everything.”
it wasn’t a rare thing for them to be affectionate with each other. In fact, it was more often than not that mabel was throwing around soft pecks to the other’s cheek, or jane was pulling mabel to her chest when they watched a movie. & this was no different, yet it still causes cheeks to flame a bright pink. she plays it off cooly, however, eyes rolling as she warps her arms around the auburn & mutters out a laugh.
‘pffft— jane, you’re so cheesy.I love it.’
but of course she just wouldn’t be mabel if she didn’t add in her own appreciation for her best friend & so her grip around jane’s middle tightens & she sighs.
