” first of all, how could I cheat? second of all why would I cheat? I’m just that good don’t see any reason to resort to dirty tricks. “ a smirk, all too at home on his face, dances across his delicate features. yeah he’s not smug in the least. ” a million? wow mabel, didn’t know you had that much. I don’t even have a million dollars. bot fighting is lucrative, but not quite that much. why don’t we just stick to twenty? “
'I dunno. You probably used your weird sciencey biz to CREATE something to help you cheat. I mean, I don’t really blame you. I am pretty hard to beat in Attic Mini Golf, so I can see how that would drive you to cheat. You still shouldn’t have done it though !!‘
A GRIN is easily masked by the curl of her lip && the extend of her elbow as she jabs it lightly into his ribcage.
'Pffft, of course I have that much, Hiro. I don’t bedazzle for free, you know. But I guess I can settle for twenty dollars, if you’re really willing to LOSE !!’
❝Just flip the switch on the buckle. Once it’s activated, ghosts won’t be able to lay a hand on you. Touch my arm if you don’t believe me.❞
While he was glad she accepted the offer, “does it really work” was a song he had heard too many times from too many people. What was one mild electric shock compared to a child’s protection?
She’s excited in reaching for the switch ;; fingers trail along the length of the item for the switch he mentioned. She’ll find it easily ( it’s hard to miss, really ) && in her excitement she’ll flip it on with a grin && the nod of her head. Mabel will pause though, his words finally dawning on her once the excitement had worn away.
'I’m not gonna hurt you, am I ? 'Cause if I am, I definitely don’t wanna do this. I think I’d rather take your word for it then possibly hurt you.’
&&there’s a gasp that falls past rose colored lips with an excitable scooch forward. He’s caught her attention;; the promise of a FUN story is far more alluring than his previous tale. && so she’ll lean toward him, chestnut curls spiraling && tangles bouncing down the reach of her back at the change of position. Her excitement fizzles quickly, however, the late hour finally catching up with her. Lips will curve into a RADIANT smile as she awaits for the promised fairy tale &&eventually she’ll speak, tired lips hardly parting to speak.
'So tell it.‘
Her excitement is hardly noticeable && perhaps she would’ve been much more emotional if it weren’t for the late hour. She’ll wait, however, tired lids drooping before she flicks russet hues to meet matching hazel eyes. Her patience has vanished.
'I don’t haveall day, Jim. I’m a very tired girl. Are you gonna tell me a FUN story or what ?!’
Boy, this kid sure was taking the whole ghost thing well. By the sound of it, it was nothing new to her.
❝Mega adorable—… What? No, what you’re wearing is fine.❞ Then again, this is Johnny we’re up against.
❝Um—… Actually, take this.❞ The girl seemed persistent, and naturally the last thing he wanted was for her to get hurt. What was a more logical way to prevent that than by handing her the specter deflector from his bag?
❝I know it just looks like a belt, but it’ll protect you.❞
Despite her ( excitement ) about the adventure, she can’t help but frown at the sight of her ‘protection’. Rose lips pull down, dark brows lifting in surprise. Her head tilts in silent question, but she doesn’t hesitate in reaching forward to pluck the item from his grasp.
'Are you sure that this non-belt will really protect me from ghosts ? My brother has probably fought against ghosts before, so I know SECOND HAND that ghosts are super dangerous, so I don’t know how helpful this belty thing is.’
She’s quiet for the first time in hours. It’s determination that prods tired arms to lift slowly upon request && it’s that same (determination ) that pulls tangled auburn tresses into her own palm. && she begins to braid. She’s practiced in this skill, fingers dancing through russet locks with ease. She lifts pieces of hair higher than others to curl the next around it && eventually she’ll smile because even in her tired state, the braid is more luxurious than any braid she’d ever given the other, much less herself. She’ll only stop when she reaches the end of her hair where the tangles lie. But tangles in lengthy auburn h a i r is just a firebreathing dragon in her mind ;;an enemy that’s easy to overcome. She’ll pause, fingers tapping against the teenagers skull as free fingers work to untangle the mess, && she’ll continue with tired lids && a smile that upturns along rose tinted cheeks with as much determination as before.
’You should brush your hair more often, Jane.’
AMUSEMENT is masked by annoyance, hazel hues rolling with only the ghost of a grin. She’ll work with heavy eyelids&& slow hands, pausing every minute or so with a sigh. The task doesn’t bother her, however, despite the annoyed glances she’ll cast at Jane through the mirror or the drawn-out sighs she mutters every minute or so. Lids droop for the fourth time that night && finally she pulls from the other, leaning back with a content S I G H.
he watches her with quiet amusement ( and perhaps a little anxiety, because what is going to happen to his face? he’s not too sure. ) & fingers curl into gentle fists on his lap. his gaze is scrutinizing, wat- ching the other work her way around the colors laid out,
and a muted sigh of relief escapes him as she follows through with his opinion. as it’s pushed onto his hands, he grasps onto them, amusement gracing soft features.
” — right. Well, I think these colors will work just fine, Mabel. “
” You know what’s best, after all. “
It wasn’t often she could give makeovers to someone. Most found it a childish activity, not willing to endure the TORTURE of sitting still for so long as she tinkered over them. && so the fact that he seemed to want to participate caused much more excitement than necessary. She pulls herself forward, grabbing the colors from his much larger hand && begins to study them. Hazel hues dart from her palm to his hushed stature multiple times, dark eyes squinting slightly in her concentration.
&& then she would straighten, lips quirking into the hint of a grin as she leans forward. The tubes of eyeshadow are pushed aside but one, which is opened the minute the others are thrown behind her. && then a brush is pulled from her bag with such haste that she almost manages to jab herself with it. Nimble fingers press to a delicate features with ease && it’s only a moment that she hesitates.
'You’re gonna look FLAWLESS,Tadashi. I onemillionpercent guarantee it.’
◄╳► oh, HOW DARE she insult him like that! her words were getting on his nerves ; feeding the irritation, which would only stop growing if satisfaction were able to find its way to him … unfortunately, it seems to be that it is LOST.
❝ blah, blah, you’re not my mom ! pirates don’t need those kinds of compliments ! giant && smelly pirates have gone through SO MUCH, && pirates with sweaters … are just … FREAKING LAME. ;; ——— like you !! ❞
( ooooooh, that must’ve got her, right ? )
&&yet she’s not so much OFFENDED as she is surprised. It wasn’t often she argued with strangers ( most were charmed into agreeing with her, no matter how incorrect she may be )&& the NERVE he had to call her an insult as appalling as LAME sent hazel hues widening in disbelief.
'The only thing L A M E here is you && your dumb, smelly, piratey business. Maybe if pirates did receive those kinda compliments, they wouldn’t be super rude && DISRESPECTFUL like you are !! ‘You know, I’m kinda glad I’m not your mom, because if I was, I would be mega disappointed.’
‘ hey, so i was just wondering–––––– i mean, i want to try out this new HAIR thing, like a. like a hair do? a braid? d’you think you’d let me do it to yours? your hair, that is ! ’
‘You wanna braid my hair ? Psssh, of course I want you to ! I would L O V E it if you could braid my hair. In fact, I would've probably payed you to braid my hair if you hadn’t asked first. Plus, scientists say that braiding other people’s hair helps make you BEST FRIENDSwith them !!’
