she liked this girl.

giving the brunette a WARM smile, she held the gaze for a moment longer than necessary before blinking several times and reverting back to her signature grin.

“ okay, well the aim is basically to create a ‘contained explosion’, if you will. I’m currently trying to develop something which has separate containers inside the chem balls, which allow it to merge into each other and react when the capsule impacts the ground, because it explodes as soon as the two elements are put together, and that’s not exactly ideal, you know, considering it means that you’d get blown up as well. ”

waving her hands around VIVIDLY as she spoke, she proceeded to the cupboard and took out a brightly coloured orb and handed to Mabel as she was talking. ending her explanation with a flourish, she giggled nervously as she adjusted her glasses, realizing that she was probably rushing through a bit too quickly. 

“ um, sorry, I’ll slow down. the thing you’re holding? that’s a chem ball. I have this purse that lets me insert certain chemicals into them, and it means I can do stuff like ice the floor over, or create PUTTY that means I can hang off walls, or even making things like a ‘globule’ that doubles as a shock absorber, and allows me to jump from high places without getting hurt. ”

she was almost definitely talking too much and the topic was getting way too close towards her second life as a superhero, and she decided it was probably better if she changed the topic sometime soon.

“ ANYWAY. could you pass me that blue chemical in the beaker just next to you ? oh and if you could, that black packet as well ? but be careful of the liquid, it’s a bit sticky. ”

               Mabel had NO idea what this lady was talking  about, but  it  sounded
               fun & it sounded EXPLOSIONY & it involved the word ‘chem balls’  so
               she nodded her head excitedly & gripped the edge  of  the  counter  as
               she leaned & tried to get a better look at what the blonde was reaching
               for. The moment the object is  placed  into  her  hands, she’s  suddenly
               careful. Her excited bouncing STOPS, & fingers are careful  in  probing
               the solid object. 

‘Woah.’

               It’s so much information at once & Mabel has so many
               questions, yet she doesn’t dare interrupt.   She  simply
               nods to let the other know that she’s  listening  as  she
               continues to prod the object in her hands  & eventually
               gasps once the other is finished  speaking, turning  the
               chem ball over in her hand.

                  ‘Woah ! That’s so cool !! & you… made this ? Like, on your
                   very own ? That’s really impressive.      I can’t believe that
                   something as small as this one can do so much !’

           She’s just happy to be of help. Mabel nods, dark curls bouncing, as
           she CAREFULLY sets the chem ball back onto the counter & turns to
           grab said items. With a grin she’ll lay the items before the blonde &
           reaches up to snap her goggles into place.

                         ‘Welp, I’m ready ! Let’s get this science-biz going !’
